The International Council on Active Aging began the first Active Aging week in 2003. The goal is to promote wellness initiatives and to get bodies up and moving while encouraging older adults to take advantage of all that life has to offer! Westhills Village knows how to celebrate and have fun so we decided to make it a month-long bash on how positive the process of aging can be. We have expanded our programs to offer something every day of the month!
This year, we hosted a variety of activities including:
- Indoor Strider Bike course
- Mini golf at Putz N Glow
- Entrance into the Pfeifle 5k
- Month long challenges
- Card games
- Billiard tournaments
- Root beer floats
- Hikes
- Walks
- Kayaks in the Westhills pool
- And so much more!
Check out the photos below to see how our residents and staff all got in on the fun! And if you’d like to age actively too, we have our activity “bingo board” below for you to document your own progress!
