Recognizing our Life-changing Nurses in 2024!

Celebrating National Nurse Week May 6 through May 12

Originally celebrated in October in 1952, National Nurse Week was observed in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s work caring for British soldiers fighting in the Crimean War.  After many years of proclamations identifying a National Nurses’ Day, the American Nurses Association extended the celebration from a day to an entire week beginning on May 6 and ending on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.  Nursing is an amazing profession that requires time, knowledge, passion, dedication, and a strong desire to care for others.  Nurses are often the first point of contact for residents and their loved ones and perform most of the essential health care tasks.  Although we are thankful for our nurse team members every day, National Nurses’ Week gives us an opportunity to thank and recognize them for their dedication to the residents and clients that we serve in our health care facilities, assisted living, and home health agency.  This year we celebrated with mini Bundt cakes as our nurses “are nothing Bundt the best!”
