October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
There are many diagnoses that are near and dear to people’s hearts. One word that can instantly cause worry is “cancer”. No matter the type of cancer someone is diagnosed with, the feeling of dread tends to sink in. More than two million women around the world each year are diagnosed with breast cancer. The month of October is a time for people to show their support. Breast Cancer Awareness month started in 1985 as a week-long event. This event eventually grew into a full month. In 1992 the pink ribbon was introduced by Estee Lauder cosmetics. Now the color pink is widely included in merchandise to show support for breast cancer awareness.
The goal of this campaign is to:
-
Support those with a breast cancer diagnosis
