It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Dr. Reuben Bareis, visionary Founder of Westhills Village and cherished friend to both our residents and staff. Many of us find ourselves reflecting on the profound legacy and impact he has left here, not only within Westhills Village but throughout the entire Rapid City community.

Dr. Bareis was instrumental in the growth and success of Westhills, as our first Board President and our first Medical Director. Under his caring leadership, unwavering passion, and wisdom he has guided us through over 40 remarkable years. He has paved the way for Westhills Village to carry his vision forward into a bright future ahead. His warm smile and uplifting words have always brought joy to our days. His heartwarming songs will resonate within each of us long after his departure from this life.

We will dearly miss our friend, whose spirit enriched our lives in countless ways. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the reassurance that Reuben has found eternal peace along with being joyfully reunited with his beloved wife, Marloe.
